Still Processing

Today, I see more people going "natural", which is a wonderful thing!  Me, being a "natural" African American woman who thinks for myself and usually thinks outside the box, I realize that my thoughts can be "out there" at times.  However, I know a few people are riding on that same vibrational thought pattern with me.  Something in the African American woman's conscious is going on...a revolution.  I'm not saying the same isn't happening with my brothers, but I'm focusing on my sisters for now.  While we are steering away for processing our hair, we must also steer away from processing our minds.  When we process our hair with chemicals, it strips away our natural texture.  How are our minds being processed?  Religion. The overt thing is always the easiest thing to critique, but not the things we have been taught or conditioned to believe since birth.  I'll be the first to admit, it's hard.  What happens when we stop processing our hair, but we are still processing our minds with the "religious perm"?  I encourage you to question what you've been taught or what you've been conditioned to believe.  Until next time...Namaste!
